Magnetic bead-based nucleic acid extraction uses magnetic beads to bind and purify DNA or RNA from a sample. The process involves adding an extraction buffer containing a mixture of detergents and salts to the sample, followed by lysing the sample with either physical or chemical disruption. The nucleic acids bound to the magnetic beads are then separated from the sample using a magnetic separator followed by washing and elution using suitable buffers. The entire process can be completed in as little as 30 minutes with high yields of pure nucleic acid.
